I was assigned this book as well as ten other books. But I chose The Year of Miss Agnes because it was suggested to me as a book I would enjoy. I liked this book for its main character Miss Agnes who is fun in the way she teaches. If I went to school, I would love to be in her class. The Year of Miss Agnes reminded me of A Happy Little Family by Rebecca Caudill because of their similar stories as they take place in school rooms with creative teachers. I would like to warn all parents that it does say the word stupid, yet it only says it once. I would recommend this book to 8-10-year-olds because it's a medium length book with smaller easy-to-read chapters. If you liked The Year of Miss Agnes I would also suggest Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
